Move Over Monday #Monoprints

img200

These free form monoprints are more developed than many of my monoprints. They are typically much more abstract. I’ve gone back and added watercolor, acrylic paint, and oil pastel to enhance form, composition, and color many times, so the original prints aren’t seen, except in the background here and there. Mystical #Myth #Monoprint #Seahorse

I’m in place where a familiar theme begins to emerge in pieces I’m working on. It started with the seadragon monoprint and now has manifested in this acrylic monoprint of a mystical seahorse. I’m thinking of creating a unicorn, winged horse, and griffin. We’ll see where that goes; I’m having so much fun making these I can hardly wait to start the next one!

#MixedMedia Sea Dragon in #Ink #Watercolor & #Acrylic

This fanciful sea dragon was done on card stock. It started out as a printmaking ink mono print, but as soon as I did the initial impression I saw the sea dragon and I knew I wanted to do the rest in watercolor and acrylic. It’s light and feels like summer to me; a great counter point to this time of year in New England. She’s just magical. One of my new favorites.

More Finished #Collage #Art!

An eclectic mix of different things. The first is a small acrylic painting. I’m fond of this one. The second is a set, which is acrylic and collage with both paper and tissue paper. The third is a mixed media collage; I was trying to draw out whimsy, which is really hard for me. The fourth is a paper collage with acrylic paint as a background and as accent. I’m partial to this one too. The fifth is crazy piece I was trying to convey anger and frustration. Fortunately, a fair amount of sadness comes through, which makes it even more haunting.
