Save The Date #Craft #Fair Nov 19th 2017

The Farmington Woman’s Club Craft and Pie Fair will be at Henry Wilson Memorial School, Farmington, NH on Sunday, November 19th this year. This is this their sixth year!

Approximately 50 vendors will be offering handmade products, in addition to crafts they will have a variety of homemade holiday pies for sale. They will have numerous items at their raffle table, a gift wrapping station.  Proceeds will benefit their Community Service and Scholarship Fund. The event starts at 9am, and from experience I know if you want one of the delicious pies, and believe me you do, you need to come early in the day!

I’m always impressed with their fair and how many people it brings to Farmington. I’ll have a double booth this time. I’ll be selling some of the Happiness Tree Decor items; trees, topiaries, baskets, and cornucopia for fall I’ll also have some of my holiday wreathes & swags. Most of the space will be for my paintings, collage work, monoprints, and some of my photography. Please come down that day and support local artists and craftspeople.

2017 Farmington High School Spring Student Art Show Photos

Last week Farmington High School held their annual Spring Art Show for the year. Thursday and Friday students were at the Recreation Center with their work. More Marvelous #MonoPrints

These are loose, abstract, free form monoprints that as I looked them I saw more developed potential and worked them into a more complex composition. I have gone back and added watercolor, acrylic paint, and oil pastel to enhance form, composition, and color. Continue reading “More Marvelous #MonoPrints”

#MixedMedia Tribute #Portrait #WaterColor & Acrylic

This one is a test subject. I want to get back into doing some portraiture. I haven’t done any portraits since I was in school, so my skills for capturing human subtlety is somewhat atrophied. I wanted to start with someone I liked, but who was not a personal favorite of mine or a direct inspiration for me. I certainly didn’t want to do someone I knew well. I had created this watercolor background around the time of David Bowie’s death and it reminded me of Bowie.

It makes me think of a nebula. Vast. Alien. Enigmatic. Continue reading “#MixedMedia Tribute #Portrait #WaterColor & Acrylic”

Two #Winter #MixedMedia Paintings

These both are mixed media pieces that I was inspired to do after our recent snow fall. They both have a mix of acrylic, watercolor, and iridescent pencil. Continue reading “Two #Winter #MixedMedia Paintings”

Seven More #MixedMedia #Collage #Art Pieces

P1020908

These are all mixed media collages. Most have a mix of acrylic, watercolor, and various papers that make up the final piece. The platters and the bowl were items that were hideous in their natural commercial forms and had outlived usefulness, but I decided to  give them new lives as art. Each of these took some time as I made some of the papers that would become part of the pieces for the collage. Continue reading “Seven More #MixedMedia #Collage #Art Pieces”

Four #MixedMedia #Collages From February

P1020857

All four of these mixed media collages was so much fun. I used a ton of crystalline papers I created about a month earlier in these. The last image is a crystalline paper that I used for some of the Hummingbird and Jay pieces. Continue reading “Four #MixedMedia #Collages From February”

January 2016 #Collage, #MixedMedia & #Painting

P1020855

I didn’t have a singular focus for my art in early 2016. The first is a mixed media still life that I love. The second is a piece I call “looking through the glacier” that I’d been working on for a while. The third and fourth are a pair of crazy collages. The last is a painting I call “forest edge on fire,”which happens to be my favorite of this bunch. Continue reading “January 2016 #Collage, #MixedMedia & #Painting”

Four Recently Completed #MixedMedia #Paintings

We love the Marx Brothers and Groucho is Stan’s favorite of the bunch. This painting is modeled after a book cover. I played up the art deco elements, because we so love that style. I imagine at some point I’ll make one of Harpo. I just think he is grand!
