Vincent van Gogh Paintings & Drawings Now Digitized & Put Online

Most of you who know me well know that one of my favorite artists is Vincent van Gogh. I know it is common to hear that now, but I don’t just love his work, his work influenced and informed my style, much of my color choice, and my use of marks. I enjoy how his vision could make the ordinary seem exceptional. His paintings and drawings never fail to hold me. I’ll never have the talent he had, but I’m glad he made such a big impact on my art and I’m thankful his work helps me express myself. Almost a thousand Vincent van Gogh paintings & drawings have now been digitized and are online to explore. Follow the link to the Van Gogh Museum.

Luminous Linked Light #Abstract #Paintings

I could not be any happier with these two paintings! When I started out I wanted to represent light and color connected together in a much more blended, organic, way than that of a kaleidoscope. I thought rainbow and reflection, like holiday lights or flowers in a garden in front of the sun viewed through an unclear lens.  I think all that came through. They remind me of those things, but also nebulae and dye colored microbes or cell structure viewed under a microscope. These are acrylic and ink over metallic acrylic. The subsurface is plaster impression on canvas.

Late #Spring #Garden # Flowers 2018 #FarmingtonNH

I’m trying to catch up with all the garden photos I’ve taken so far this year. This set is mid to late spring. Most are shot in our gardens, but a few are from other places around town. Hopefully you will find them as rewarding to view, as I have in planting and taking care of them.

Savoring Sumptuous #Spring #Garden #Flowers

Spring has sprung! The garden is not exactly in hyper drive right now and I’m behind I yard work and I’m trying to keep up. Not much in the way of rain this year, so the plants and the flowers are smaller and are not lasting as long as they normally do this time of year. Not as much of an early show. Lazy Late #Summer #Garden #Photos

Late summer, here in New Hampshire, is when the garden is in the twilight of its’ life. As the prolonged heat of mid to late summer moves in most plants get a bit ragged and tired. Even with extra water it is hard to keep blooms coming. As you can see that doesn’t mean the garden looks bare. We’ve actually had cooler than normal weather this year, which has felt great while out in the garden. Much less use of the AC too. I hope you enjoy the gallery. There should be one more coming! #NH #Garden #Flowers Mid #Summer #Gallery

Mid summer, here in New Hampshire, is when the garden has some of the best displays. As the heat of mid to late summer moves in it is hard to keep everything in bloom.  This is when I tend to give extra water to everything and with my annuals I try to feed them a couple of times a month to keep blooms coming. We’ve continued to have large afternoon down pours this year, much like the south, which has helped with the watering schedule tremendously. I hope you enjoy the gallery! #ArtDeco Inspired #Geometric #Acrylic #Painting

I’ve pointed out before that Stan and I love the look and feel of the Art Deco period. We collect many things from the period and it influences many things about our house and the furnishings. One day I got it into my head that I wanted to create an Art Deco inspired piece for our family room. I knew I wanted it to be geometric, to be somewhat reflective, and I knew I also wanted to use acrylic skins for parts of it. After working on it for over a year off and on it is finally done. I’m calling this painting “Building Veiled Geometry.” Continue reading “#ArtDeco Inspired #Geometric #Acrylic #Painting”
