Four Recently Completed #MixedMedia #Paintings

We love the Marx Brothers and Groucho is Stan’s favorite of the bunch. This painting is modeled after a book cover. I played up the art deco elements, because we so love that style. I imagine at some point I’ll make one of Harpo. I just think he is grand!

This coleus mixed media exploration really feels electric to me. I love the glow.  Someone said the background looked mysterious, and I can see that too.

This trio of carp where specifically made with our bedroom in mind. The bedroom has deep red walls and the decor in that room pulls from many Asian nations and Asian histories. These mixed media paintings feel playful to me. I feel like we are looking through amazing portals into their world, getting a small peek.

This mixed media piece was made for our TV room/den. Once again I find this piece to be a reflection of history and how we look at it. In many ways this piece reminds me of the Star Trek episode “The City on the Edge of Forever,” specifically the portal that allows the crew to look at and travel back to the past.

  1. Gotta' say, Groucho is my favorite. This shows a side of you I haven't seen before and I really like it….not that I dislike the other sides. HA!
