It is a shame about Detroit, we have been there twice in the past few years and it is very depressing to witness, though there are some bright spots emerging (i.e., downtown).
Ken, it is a shame. The only thing that helps with that sadness is knowing that Detroit may end up being our first real eco-city if money and time are afforded for turning the city around using that mode of thought as inspiration.
