Those flowers are beautiful! While in school I used to photograph flowers and it was a bitch, cause the photos never looked as good as the real flowers but it was not able to stop I continued. I think that what makes this work is the black background.
Marcos, I agree the black background does help to push them forward visually and keeps your focus(and the cameras) on the flowers.
