It’s way past time for a Bram & Quin update! They are both settled into the new house. They’ve developed new routines. They’ve bounced back. I think they are getting used to our long distance situation and I’m sure they will be happy when we are all reunited again full time next year.
They’ve gone for their first vet wellness visit here in PA and are doing very well. They are registered and licensed here. We did have a scare with Quin for a couple weeks in March. He wasn’t doing well. You could tell in almost every way. He wasn’t eating or drinking water very much and he wasn’t going to the bathroom much either. So, I took him to the vet and they found he had a bad case of gastroenteritis. They prescribed medications and hydrated him, but it took about two full weeks for him to recover. I’m still not sure what caused it. Bram, thankfully, was not effected at all. In May they are due for a coupe of inoculations, but that is about it.
They play and run around this house a little more than in the old place. They are pretty much free to roam wherever they want to, where we restricted them a bit more in the old place. I think Quin plays more with toys than he used to. Bram still carries around the first Lambchop we gave him, everywhere. He knows if you try to replace it with a new one and the new one has been named “fake Lampchop” since. Bram loves staring out the side window to look out at the neighborhood. We are putting up the new shades in the house and he likes that much better than having to view the world through mini-blinds. They both like to sit at the back door, when I have it open and stare at everything going on. There is plenty of wildlife to look at!
They are better acclimated to traveling in the car. We bought a new system to set up in the back seat and will try that out when Stan is here next. It still utilizes their seat belt system they now have. I think it will help us manage them better in the back seat. We’ll see!
Our friend Ann has been coming over to keep me from going insane. We’ve been working to get them used to people being in the new house. Bram wants to be fast friends. Quincey will take more time, but he’s showing some progress.
They are really enjoying the warmer weather! We’ve had a lot of work done , so the grass needs to fill in a bit in the fenced back yard, but I’m sure in no time they’ll be outside sunning themselves in the back yard, which is one of best things in life, according to them.
Hope your spring is going well!
