Getting the house ready for the winter holidays brings much excitement for me each year. Though much of the house stays the same in the way I decorate it, it is never exactly the same. Down below you will find several things that are different from previous years. I’ve included a photo of the two of us the first time we decorated the house together and a photo of the new hall radiator cover that Stan made for me. You will also see some new antique furniture additions. We are retiring some of my old furniture, from before we were a couple, to be used for storage in the basement and that has allowed us to find new pieces for the house. We’ve also finished some more of the small projects we are doing so you might see changes in the house in that way as well. Happy holidays everyone!

Mid summer, here in New Hampshire, is when the garden has some of the best displays. As the heat of mid to late summer moves in it is hard to keep everything in bloom. This is when I tend to give extra water to everything and with my annuals I try to feed them a couple of times a month to keep blooms coming. We’ve continued to have large afternoon down pours this year, much like the south, which has helped with the watering schedule tremendously. I hope you enjoy the gallery! Glass has a vibrant soul. I love looking at colored glass. I like staging, lighting, and photographing it to see what you can bring out. Light it differently or put in in a different location and it takes on other qualities that were not present in the first location. Continue reading “#Glass #Photography”
The holidays are a special time for me. I’m very busy doing all kinds of projects during this time and it could be easy to get overwhelmed. Even with that being true, we always make time for visiting with friends and having them over to celebrate the holidays of the season. Decorating the house isn’t just for the adding of a festive backdrop for the get together, it is a tie to the many past holiday seasons and the people who were and are in our lives now. It is an exemplification of our chosen family and shared histories we have. It is also a great way to reflect on those we loved that aren’t with us any longer. I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season! Continue reading “Home #Holiday #Decorating #Photos”
