These two pieces are favorites right now. They look even better in person! If you came to the local show, you already had a chance to see them then, but for everyone else this is your first look at them. Lots of layers, impressions, stamping, and rich autumn colors. I chose a set of simple, unvarnished, natural wood frames for them. I think they compliment them without distracting from them. Enjoy!
Getting the house ready for the winter holidays brings much excitement for me each year. Though much of the house stays the same in the way I decorate it, it is never exactly the same. Down below you will find several things that are different from previous years. I’ve included a photo of the two of us the first time we decorated the house together and a photo of the new hall radiator cover that Stan made for me. You will also see some new antique furniture additions. We are retiring some of my old furniture, from before we were a couple, to be used for storage in the basement and that has allowed us to find new pieces for the house. We’ve also finished some more of the small projects we are doing so you might see changes in the house in that way as well. Happy holidays everyone!

Glass has a vibrant soul. I love looking at colored glass. I like staging, lighting, and photographing it to see what you can bring out. The holidays are a special time for me. I’m very busy doing all kinds of projects during this time and it could be easy to get overwhelmed. Even with that being true, we always make time for visiting with friends and having them over to celebrate the holidays of the season. Decorating the house isn’t just for the adding of a festive backdrop for the get together, it is a tie to the many past holiday seasons and the people who were and are in our lives now. It is an exemplification of our chosen family and shared histories we have. It is also a great way to reflect on those we loved that aren’t with us any longer. I’ve almost finished working on the folding screen with crystalline paper inserts. We found the screen at a yard sale for next to nothing and I thought I could do something interesting for the inserts. I made some crystalline papers for other projects and decided I’d give them a try for the screen. The result is stunning. Even in fairly low light the colors come through. Though some of the wreathes, swags, and arrangements may appear similar in color or content to another, believe me, I couldn’t exactly reproduce any any of them. Each items has a soul of its’ own. Wreathes are priced between $15 for small(less than 18″) wreathes and $55 for larger wreathes(around 32″). Swags are priced between $15 for basic swags to $25 for very complex swags. Other Holiday items are harder to give a price range for, but it is safe to say most are priced between $15 to $55. Custom orders or specialty items may be priced higher. Happiness Trees are handmade wax floral arrangements which can be used for almost any occasion. From weddings, to centerpieces for the holidays, there is not an event for which these arrangements cannot be tailored. Miniature wax fruit floral arrangement is a non mechanized process in which handmade, modeling clay dough, is low-fired and the resulting fruit is wax dipped by hand, then arranged and combined with other materials to form a truly unusual form of floral art. This beautiful tradition was passed down from my grandmother to me. They are somewhat fragile, especially during handling, but can last for decades.
